Doesn’t Gordon Ramsay have enough to do? Running restaurants (with a total of 10 Michelin Stars), reality shows, and cookbooks galore — shouldn’t he go off and do something fun for change, like an anger management class?

But no, the super celebrity chef has a new project: getting involved in the hotel business. Aside from catering to Trianon Palace at Versailles near Paris, and the London Hotel in New York and now Los Angeles, he’s just purchased a 10-room boutique called York & Albany. His friend, Angela Hartnett will be running the kitchens, though.

Ingredients

1/4 cup pasteurized egg product
1 clove of garlic, minced (about 1/2 teaspoon)
1 1/2 teaspoons anchovy paste
1/2 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 cup finely grated Parmesan
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
6 cups coarsely torn romaine lettuce
2 cups of baby spinach leaves
2 cups of whole-grain croutons
4 grilled chicken breast halves (about 4 ounces each), sliced

Steps

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg product, garlic, anchovy paste, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice. Slowly add the olive oil in a steady stream, whisking the whole time. Stir in the Parmesan and season with salt and pepper.
In a large bowl, toss the dressing with the lettuce and spinach until well coated. Add the croutons and toss to combine. Divide the salad onto 4 plates and top each plate with grilled chicken slices.

Celebrity chefs are spending too much time appearing on cooking or reality shows, and too little time in the kitchen.

New chefs are stepping in to fill the vacuum. “Today’s rising stars are taking food in an artisanal direction,” says Susan Ungaro, president of James Beard Foundation. “When they talk about the menu, they can tell you not only where the lamb was raised, but where the butter came from.”

Many consider Martha Stewart to be a celebrity chef. While she has no formal training, her philosophy of simple yet delicious meals and beautiful presentation has changed the way many people see home cooking.

Though Martha does cook once in a while, many days she relies on the creations of her chef Pierre, and even shares some of his recipes in her blog.

It’s hard for a chef to please another chef — especially one with as high standards as Martha Stewart. So his recipes are worth a try!

Watch out for “Maze, The Cookbook” this April. It is the first cook book of Jason Atherton, who heads the award-winning restaurant Maze. It contains about 30 of his signature dishes. Atherton is one of Gordon Ramsey’s proteges (he must be pretty darn good to get his attention).
